21. Measurements of physical workload with special reference to energy expenditure and work postures
Sammanfattning : Background: There is a need in preventive ergonomics for accurate and valid methods of quantifying exposure to physical workload. Aims: Two technical instruments were evaluated for quantifying occupational physical workloads: 1) A heart rate (HR) monitor system to measure energy expenditure and 2) An inclinometer system based on triaxial accelerometers to measure work postures. 22. Prognostic factors in soft tissue sarcoma. Tissue microarray for immunostaining, the importance of whole-tumor sections and time-dependence
Sammanfattning : In adult soft tissue sarcoma (STS) of the extremities and trunk wall, improved prognostic factors are needed to identify patients at high-risk for metastasis. Various factors are included in the many prognostic systems currently in use and the prognostic value of immunohistochemical (IHC) expression of biological markers is unclear. LÄS MER
23. Ergonomic Risk Assessment and Intervention through Smart Workwear Systems
Sammanfattning : The rapid development of wearable technology has provided opportunities to ergonomics research and practice with new ways for workload measurements, data analytics, risk assessment and intervention. This thesis aims at developing and evaluating methods using wearable technologies to assess physical risk factors at work, and further to give feedback to employees to improve their work techniques. 24. Förbättrad radionuklidterapi av neuroblastom
Sammanfattning : Today, about half of the children diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma (HR-NB) survive due to considerable treatment improvements during the last decades. However, there is still much to be done for the other half who are not cured with current treatments. LÄS MER
25. Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation, physical fitness, and physical activity in cardiac disease
Sammanfattning : Background: Evidence suggests that individualised exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation should be offered to patients with ischemic heart disease and chronic heart failure (HF) because it improves physical fitness and health-related quality of life (HR-QoL), and reduces cardiac mortality and hospital admissions. If physiotherapist-led exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation (PT-X) can similarly improve physical fitness in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), and improve physical activity levels in patients with chronic HF or permanent AF, has been sparsely studied.
