21. Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation, physical fitness, and physical activity in cardiac disease
Sammanfattning : Background: Evidence suggests that individualised exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation should be offered to patients with ischemic heart disease and chronic heart failure (HF) because it improves physical fitness and health-related quality of life (HR-QoL), and reduces cardiac mortality and hospital admissions. If physiotherapist-led exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation (PT-X) can similarly improve physical fitness in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), and improve physical activity levels in patients with chronic HF or permanent AF, has been sparsely studied. Sammanfattning : Renal cell carcinoma (RCC), a common malignancy worldwide, affects 1200 new patients yearly in Sweden. Metastatic RCC (mRCC) develops in one in three and is commonly incurable. Clear cell histology dominates followed by papillary histology. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : Faithful DNA replication is essential and the induction of replication stress may have profound effects on genomic integrity. This is demonstrated by the formation of DNA double strand breaks (DSBs), considered to be the most toxic DNA lesions, at stalled replication forks. LÄS MER
24. Atrial fibrillation and cause of death, sex differences in mortality, and anticoagulation treatment in low-risk patients
Sammanfattning : Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia but information on cause of death in patients with AF is sparse, and whether individuals at low risk of cerebral infarction (CVL) should receive antico-agulant medication is controversial. Studies of sex differences with respect to mortality risk have shown conflicting results. LÄS MER
25. Detection of myocardial ischemia : clinical and experimental studies with focus on vectorcardiography, heart rate and perioperative conditions
Sammanfattning : Introduction. Multiple clinical methods for detecting myocardial ischemia are utilised in the hospital setting each day, but there is uncertainty about their diagnostic accuracy. LÄS MER
