  1. 1. Molecular And Cellular Networks in Critical Illness Associated Muscle Weakness : Skeletal Muscle Proteostasis in the Intensive Care Unit

    Författare :Varuna Chaminda Banduseela; Lars Larsson; Gustavo Nader; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chaperones; autophagy; intensive care unit; heat shock proteins; protein synthesis; proteostasis; ER stress; gene expression; sepsis; neuromuscular blockers; corticosteroids; immobilisation; mechanical ventilation; Molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Critical illness associated muscle weakness and muscle dysfunction in intensive care unit (ICU) patients lead to severe morbidity and mortality as well as significant adverse effect on quality of life. Immobilization, mechanical ventilation, neuromuscular blocking agents, corticosteroids, and sepsis have been implicated as important risk factors, but the underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms remain unclear. 2. 2. Ribosomal proteins L5 and L15 : Functional characterisation of important features, in vivo

    Författare :Ivailo Simoff; Odd Nygård; Gustavo Nader; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; cellbiologi; Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Protein synthesis is a highly regulated and energy consuming process, during which a large ribonucleoprotein particle called the ribosome, synthesizes new proteins. The eukaryotic ribosome consists of two unequal subunits called: small and large subunits. Both subunits are composed of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and ribosomal proteins (r-proteins). LÄS MER
