  1. 1. Laser Scanning Multiphoton Microscopy – Focusing on Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy and Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging for Biomedical Applications

    Författare :Jeemol James; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser scanning multiphoton microscopy; intrinsic cellular fluorophores.; fluorescence correlation spectroscopy; fluorescence lifetime imaging; melanoma metastasis;

    Sammanfattning : Laser scanning multiphoton microscopy (MPM) is considered as a non-invasive technology for three-dimensional imaging of complex biological tissues. The quantitative potential of the MPM is not investigated as much as qualitative imaging. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Short-Pulse Laser Spectroscopy for Combustion Diagnostics - Laser-Induced Fluorescence of Polyatomic Molecules and Developments in Measurement and Evaluation

    Författare :Thomas Metz; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; pulsed lasers; Physics; Fysik; Laser technology; Laserteknik; non-linear spectroscopy; maximum likelihood; curve fitting; data adjustment; statistical inference; formaldehyde; PAH; polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons; lifetime imaging; two-dimensional; streak camera; LIF; laser-induced fluorescence; Fluorescence lifetimes; time-resolved;

    Sammanfattning : Combustion is the most important source of energy worldwide. A better understanding of it is essential if pollutant emissions are to be reduced and combustion devices be made more efficient. This requires measurement of physical and chemical combustion parameters. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Multiphoton Microscopy Targeting Tissue Development. Towards the real-time imaging of epidermal differentiation

    Författare :Monika Malak; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multiphoton microscopy; fluorescence lifetime imaging; epidermal differentiation; reconstructed human epidermis; organ-on-a-chip; intrinsic fluorescence;

    Sammanfattning : The development of novel organ-on-a-chip models calls for methodologies, which will allow the study of tissue development and pharmacological outcome in real-time. Multiphoton microscopy (MPM) has been proposed as a suitable technique for noninvasive imaging of live specimens, utilizing intrinsic tissue fluorescence. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Development and application of photofragmentation laser-induced fluorescence for visualization of hydrogen peroxides

    Författare :Olof Johansson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Flame diagnostics; Fluorescence lifetime imaging; Hydrogen peroxide; Laser diagnostics; Laser-induced fluorescence; Photofragmentation;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is mainly motivated by the need for an optical diagnostic technique which can be used to visualize hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in its gas phase. Due to the lack of bound electronic states, H2O2 cannot be detected using laser-induced fluorescence based on electronic excitation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Laser Diagnostics in Combustion - Elastic Scattering and Picosecond Laser-Induced Fluorescence

    Författare :Frederik Ossler; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Spray; Picosecond laser; Streak camera; Time resolved; Fluorescence lifetimes; 3 – D flow imaging; 2 - D lifetime imaging; Pressure; Temperature; Hydrogen atoms; Oxygen atoms; 3-pentanone; Acetone; Lorenz-Mie theory; Aerosol; Fysicumarkivet A:1999:Ossler; Scattering; Fysik; Physics; Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.;

    Sammanfattning : Elastic scattering and the Lorenz-Mie (LM) theory in particular is used for the characterization of sub-micron- and micron-sized droplets of organic fuels in sprays and aerosols. Calculations on the Lorenz- Mie theory show that backward-sideward scattered visible radiation can be used for unambiguous detection of ensembles of homogeneous droplets of organic substances with diameters around 1 micrometer (size parameter between 2 and 6).
