    Författare :Ylva Edwards; Ulf Isacsson; Klaus-Werner Damm; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bitumen; asphalt; additives; wax in bitumen; polyphosphoric acid in bitumen; rheology; IR-spectroscopy; dynamic mechanic analysis DMA ; bending beam rheometer BBR ; literature study; low temperature physical hardening; highway materials; morphology; modified bitumens; temperature susceptibility; low temperature performance; ageing; microscopy; chromatography; Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy; force ductility; conventional binder tests; asphalt performance; tensile strain restrained specimen test TSRST ; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis consists of a literature review, presented in two papers, and another six papers describing experimental studies of the influence of different kinds of wax and polyphosporic acid on bitumen and asphalt concrete mixture properties. The literature review should give an extensive description of the field of knowledge concerning wax in bitumen. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The Metallurgical Aspects of Machinability in Prehardened Mould Steels

    Författare :Seyyed Mohammad Hamed Hoseiny; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bainitic structure; Tool Life; Cutting Temperature; Cutting Force; Machinability; Microstructure; Tempered Martensite; Plastic Mould Steels;

    Sammanfattning : High economical efficiency obtained by utilizing prehardened mould steels in plastic mould making has increased the usage of these types of steels to a great extent. Generally, prehardened mould steels are applied for large moulds and moulds for moderate production runs, and one of the advantages of using this type of steel is that no heat treatment is necessary for putting the mould in use. 3. 3. Composite Action and Confinement Effects in Tubular Steel-Concrete Columns

    Författare :Mathias Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; connection; composite action; composite column; finite element analysis; bond; confined concrete; high-strength concrete; experiment; concrete-filled steel tube;

    Sammanfattning : Composite columns composed of concrete-filled steel tubes (CFT) have become increasingly popular in structural applications around the world. This type of column can offer many advantages, for instance, high strength, ductility, and large energy absorption capacity, as well as increased speed of construction, positive safety aspects, and possible use of simple standardized connections. Sammanfattning : Growing demands for passenger safety, vehicle performance and fueleconomy is a continuous driving force for the increase in use of advancedhigh strength steels (AHSS) in the automotive industry. Thesesteels area characterised by improved formability and crash worthinesscompared to conventional steel grades. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Hydro-mechanical forming of aluminium tubes : on constitutive modelling and process design

    Författare :Mikael Jansson; Larsgunnar Nilsson; Odd Sture Hopperstad; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydroforming; Aluminium Extrusions; Anisotropic material; Solid mechanics; Fastkroppsmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Tube hydroforming is a forming method which has several advantages. By using pressure in combination with material feeding it is possible to manufacture products with high structural integration and tight dimensional tolerances. The forming method is especially suited for aluminium alloys which have a relatively low ductility. LÄS MER
