36. Structural Studies of Flexible Biomolecules and a DNA-binding Protein
Sammanfattning : The knowledge of the three-dimensional structures of proteins and polypeptides is essential to understand their functions. The work shown in this thesis has two objectives. LÄS MER
37. Functionalization and Characteization of Carbon-based Nanomaterials
Sammanfattning : Surface functionalization of nanomaterials opens up unlimited possibilities to combine the distinct properties of inorganic, organic, or even bioactive components in a single material and bring novel functionalities in a wide range of applications ranging from electronics to catalysts and medicine carriers. So far, a variety of organic and inorganic nanomaterials have been explored to construct different functionalized nanomaterials. LÄS MER
38. Soil-Steel Composite Bridges : Research advances and application
Sammanfattning : Soil-steel composite bridges are considered competitive structures being an economical alternative to similar span concrete bridges. This frequently stimulates practitioners to push their design limits and expand the different areas of application including their performance in sloping terrain. LÄS MER
39. Towards Understanding of Selectivity & Enantioconvergence of an Epoxide Hydrolase
Sammanfattning : Epoxide hydrolase I from Solanum tuberosum (StEH1) and isolated variants thereof has been studied for mapping structure-function relationships with the ultimate goal of being able to in silico predict modifications needed for a certain activity or selectivity. To solve this, directed evoultion using CASTing and an ISM approach was applied to improve selectivity towards either of the enantiomeric product diols from (2,3-epoxypropyl)benzene (1). LÄS MER
40. Ink-jet printing of thin film transistors based on carbon nanotubes
Sammanfattning : The outstanding electrical and mechanical properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) may offer solutions to realizing high-mobility and high-bendability thin-film transistors (TFTs) for the emerging flexible electronics. This thesis aims to develop low-cost ink-jet printing techniques for high-performance TFTs based on pristine SWCNTs. LÄS MER
