  1. 21. The p53-induced gene wig-1 : regulation of expression and role in embryonic development

    Författare :Margareta Wilhelm; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The p53 tumor suppressor is a transcription factor that responds to various forms of cellular stress. Activated p53 induces growth arrest or apoptosis through transcriptional regulation of a wide range of target genes. More than 50% of human tumors carry mutations in the p53 gene, most of which reside within the DNAbinding core domain of p53. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Quantitative sensory testing, obstructive sleep apnea and peripheral nervous lesions

    Författare :Louise Hagander; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska institutet Institutionen för klinisk neurovetenskap Department of Clinical Neuroscience; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE;

    Sammanfattning : In diagnosis of peripheral neuropathies, quantitative sensory testing (QST) is used to assess thermal and vibration sensitivity. QST is a psychophysical method susceptible to the influence of several factors. It is important to standardize the test. Vibrations may cause peripheral nerve lesions. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Nanoelectronic Devices Based on Low-Dimensional Semiconductor Structures

    Författare :Daniel Wallin; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; InGaAs InP; GaAs AlGaAs; ballistic transport; quantum transport; low-dimensional structures; two-dimensional electron gas; quantum dot; three terminal ballistic junction; nanowire;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis reports on results from the fabrication technology development and the corresponding electrical transport measurements of low-dimensional semiconductor structures. The focus of the work has been directed towards two parts: the ballistic transport in nanostructure devices at room temperature, and the development of a charge-sensing technique for quantum dots (QD) in nanowires. 4. 24. Responses of benthic-pelagic coupling to environmental change

    Författare :Per Hedberg; Monika Winder; Martin Kainz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Benthic-pelagic coupling; Stable isotopes; Fatty acids; Baltic Sea; Plankton; Food webs; Benthos; Marine Ecology; marin ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Changing abiotic factors, like temperature and light are important drivers of seasonality, affecting aquatic ecosystems and organisms annually in a predictable pattern, structuring species composition, growth, reproduction and trophic interactions. As a consequence of human induced climate change, coastal ecosystems are seeing a disruption in the predictability of annual cycles. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Microstructure Development of WC-Co Based Cemented Carbides During Creep Testing

    Författare :Mohamed Amine Yousfi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; plastic deformation; TEM; APT; EBSD; WC grain growth.; Cr segregation;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this work is to understand the mechanisms behind the plastic deformation of WC‐Co based cemented carbides. The microstructure of two series with different WC grain size was investigated before and after creep deformation using quantitative microscopy, atom probe tomography, and transmission electron microscopy.
