1. Catalytic Reduction of NOx on Heavy-Duty Trucks
Sammanfattning : The objective of the work described in this thesis is to identify the principles and parts of an aftertreatment system for the catalytic NOx reduction for heavy-duty diesel vehicles, and to demonstrate such a system in full-scale. The reducing agent is diesel fuel. LÄS MER
2. New Materials in Environmental Catalysis
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents new approaches to the control of emissions within the field of environmental catalysis. Three catalytic systems; bimetallic catalysts, perovskites and promoted catalysts have been prepared and evaluated for complete oxidation of volatile organic compounds and for simultaneous conversion of CO, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides. 3. Catalysts for Car Exhaust: Oxygen Storage in Platinum/Ceria and Mass Transfer in Monoliths
Sammanfattning : In this work, the oxygen storage/release in Pt/ceria catalysts has been investigated both experimentally and theoretically. Moreover, the flow distribution and mass transfer in monolith catalysts for car-exhaust purification have been studied. LÄS MER
4. Deactivation of commercial three-way catalysts: Experimental and theoretical studies
Sammanfattning : This PhD thesis is a summary of my work with thermal deactivated commercial three way catalysts (TWCs). An examination of catalytic properties, before and after accelerated aging was performed, such as light-off temperature, specific surface area (BET), noble metal dispersion and oxygen storage capacity was performed. 5. FTIR Studies and Kinetic Modelling of NOX Reduction and NOX Storage
Sammanfattning : FTIR spectroscopy and kinetic modelling have been used to study catalysts for NOX reduction and NOX storage. For Pt/Al2O3 exposed to NO, oxygen and propene IR-bands associated with nitrates, acetate, formate, carbonates and isocyanate were observed. Experiments with NO, oxygen and HNCO showed that isocyanate is an intermediate for reduction of NOX. LÄS MER
