1. Catalytic Reduction of NOx on Heavy-Duty Trucks
Sammanfattning : The objective of the work described in this thesis is to identify the principles and parts of an aftertreatment system for the catalytic NOx reduction for heavy-duty diesel vehicles, and to demonstrate such a system in full-scale. The reducing agent is diesel fuel. LÄS MER
2. Fundamentals of NH3-SCR and SOx chemistry over copper zeolite for the control of NOx and greenhouse gas (N2O) emissions
Sammanfattning : The release of N2O over Cu-zeolite was investigated due to the critical contribution it makes to the atmosphere as one of the greenhouse gases (GHGs). An exhaust after-treatment system (EATS) for heavy-duty vehicles that uses Cu/SSZ-13 as the selective catalyst reduction (SCR) catalyst experiences not only a variety of flow, temperature and chemical conditions but is also exposed to various resulting contaminants. 3. Deactivation of SCR catalysts - Impact of sulfur and the use of biofuels
Sammanfattning : In a near future, limits on CO2 emissions from vehicles will be introduced, which requires development of more fuel-efficient engines and most likely a transition towards the use of more biofuels. With the implementation of biofuels several issues could arise, one being the lack of fuel standards for these new type of fuels, leading to higher concentrations of catalyst poisons compared to conventional fossil fuels. 4. Studies of the Selective Catalytic Reduction of Nitrogen Oxides with Dimethyl Ether
Sammanfattning : Dimethyl ether (DME) is one of the most energy-efficient and low CO2 emitting alternative fuels when produced from biomass. Similar to other vehicles with combustion engines, vehicles running on DME will most likely need after-treatment technologies for the reduction of NOx emissions to meet the most stringent upcoming legislations. 5. Titania supported vanadium oxide catalysts in the NH3-SCR reaction: Effect of vanadium loading, promoters and aging
Sammanfattning : Emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from combustion processes in mobile sources attract significant attention due to their role as a major source of atmospheric contamination, along with health risks and environmental issues. Since combustion processes in heavy-duty vehicles are expected to be used for a foreseeable future, many efforts have been invested in a suitable deNOx technology. LÄS MER
