21. The O2 electrode performance in the Li-O2 battery
Sammanfattning : Li-O2 batteries have been attracting increasing attention and R&D efforts as promising power sources for electric vehicles (EVs) due to their significantly higher theoretical energy densities compared to conventional Li-ion batteries. The research presented in this thesis covers the investigation of factors influencing the decomposition of Li2O2, the development of highly active electrocatalysts, and the design of low-cost and easy-operation binder-free O2 electrodes for Li-O2 batteries. 22. Formation of Bainite Studied by In-situ High-energy X-ray Diffraction
Sammanfattning : Bainitic steels have attracted great attentions in recent years due to their excellent combination of properties to accommodate a wide range of applications. A deep and comprehensive understanding of how bainite forms is required to better design the production process and optimize the properties of bainitic steels. LÄS MER
23. Primary reactions in crystalline salts of tartaric acids, α-amino acids and monochloroacetic acid studied by pulse radiolysis and ESR spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Primary reactions in irradiated single crystals of salts of tartaric acids, a-amino acids and monochloroacetic acid have been studied by pulse radiolysis and ESR spectroscopy. The primary products are formed by the loss or capture of an electron and are referred to as oxidation and reduction products. LÄS MER
24. Reactions of aqueous radiolysis products with oxide surfaces : An experimental and DFT study
Sammanfattning : The reactions between aqueous radiolysis products and oxide surfaces are important in nuclear technology in many ways. In solid-liquid systems, they affect (and at the same time are dependent on) both the solution chemistry and the stability of materials under the influence of ionizing radiation. LÄS MER
25. Micro-reaction Mechanism Study of the Biomass Thermal Conversion Process using Density Functional Theory
Sammanfattning : Biomass, or bio-energy, is one of the most important alternative energies because of environmental concerns and the future shortage of fossil fuels. Multi-scaled bioenergy studies have been performed in the division of Energy and Furnace Technology, which included studies of macroscopic systems such as systems and reactors, modeling of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and atomic/molecular level studies.
