16. Prognostic factors in periampullary adenocarcinoma. A retrospective study over an 11 year period
Sammanfattning : Periampullary adenocarcinoma, including pancreatic cancer, has a poor prognosis that has not improved in the last decades. Therefore, in order to find more effective treatment regimens, it is necessary to gain more insight into the biology and clinical behaviour of these tumours. LÄS MER
17. Evolutionary history and chloroplast DNA variation in three plant genera: Betula, Corylus and Salix. : The impact of post-glacial colonisation and hybridisation
Sammanfattning : The great difference in the level of chloroplast variation and its geographic structure among the three main species studied here demonstrates that forest species do not form a homogeneous group. Hazel shows a genetic structure similar to many other thermophilous species and this structure, in combination with fossil evidence, indicates that the post-glacial colonisation of most of Europe originated in a refugium in western France while the Balkan and Italy were colonised from a south-eastern refugium. 18. Expression and novel function of CD43 in colon cancer cells
Sammanfattning : CD43 is a transmembrane protein containing an extracellular domain that is extensively O-glycosylated, and a relatively large intracellular domain with a conserved sequence between human, rat and mouse. It is frequently expressed in haematopoietic cell lines where it functions as a regulator of cell adhesiveness, a signal transducer and a cytoskeleton-interacting protein. LÄS MER

20. Exploring conditional motif-based protein interactions in health and disease
Sammanfattning : Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) orchestrate a variety of cellular events, ranging from signal transduction, scaffolding to subcellular localisation. A subclass of PPIs is mediated by short linear motifs, which are short amino acid stretches found in the intrinsically disordered regions of the proteome. LÄS MER
