  2. 17. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor delta : regulation of skeletal muscle metabolism

    Författare :David Kitz Krämer; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor PPAR 4 insulin sensitivity; insulin action; human skeletal muscle; primary cultured muscle cells; lipid-metabolism; glucose metabolism; AMP activated protein kinase AMPK ; Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus;

    Sammanfattning : Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor (PPAR) δ is a nuclear transcription factor which has been implicated in the regulation of lipid metabolism in skeletal muscle. In addition to the postural and locomotive functions of skeletal muscle, this organ has a major impact role on whole body metabolism. LÄS MER

  3. 18. The cell biology and catalytic properties of the nutrient-induced signaling endoprotease Ssy5

    Författare :António Martins; Per O. Ljungdahl; Bruno André; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nutrient sensing; signal transduction; regulated proteolysis; endoprotease; serine protease; substrate specificity; subcellular fractionation; Saccharomyces cerevisiae; Cell Biology; cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cells continuously sense and respond to changes in the presence, quality and quantity of external and internal nutrients. Specific signaling proteases have been identified based on their roles in processing or destruction of distinct sets of downstream effector proteins in response to environmental cues. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Ultrafast spin dynamics at the nanoscale : using coherent X-ray and terahertz radiation

    Författare :Nanna Zhou Hagström; Stefano Bonetti; Stefan Eisebitt; Ferran Macià Bros; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; XFEL; small-angle X-ray scattering; X-ray holography; ultrafast magnetism; symmetry-breaking; magnetic domains; terahertz; magnetic field enhancement; metamaterial; time-resolved magneto-optical microscope; Physics; fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The field of ultrafast magnetism is driven by the growing need for faster and more efficient magnetic data storage, which comprises the vast majority of the digital information worldwide. However, after more than two decades of intense research, the understanding of the fundamental physical processes governing the transfer of angular momentum necessary for magnetic switching, is still lacking, partially hampered by the appropriate experimental tools. 5. 20. Diffusion of dynamic innovations : A case study of residential solar PV systems

    Författare :Emrah Karakaya; Cali Nuur; Antonio Hidalgo; Anna Bergek; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Dynamic innovations; diffusion; residential solar; photovoltaics; time; space; Industriell ekonomi och organisation; Industrial Engineering and Management;

    Sammanfattning : In the literature on diffusion of innovations, it is widely known that the characteristics and socio-environmental settings of adopters do evolve in space and time. What about innovations themselves? During the diffusion process, don’t some innovations continuously alter in space and time? If so, how does the dynamic character of an innovation influence the diffusion process? In previous research, it has been often assumed that innovations do not continuously alter or get modified when diffusing from a source to potential adopters. LÄS MER
