  1. 21. A mobile app for self-management of urinary incontinence : treatment effect and user experience

    Författare :Ina Asklund; Eva Samuelsson; Malin Sjöström; Katarina Hamberg; Siv Mørkved; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :stress urinary incontinence; pelvic floor muscle training; mHealth; self-management; randomized controlled trial; qualitative research; ansträngningsinkontinens; bäckenbottenträning; mHealth; egenbehandling; randomiserad kontrollerad studie; kvalitativ forskning; family medicine; allmänmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background Urinary incontinence affects 25-45% of all women. The most common type is stress urinary incontinence, which is the leakage of urine on physical exertion. Pelvic floor muscle training is an effective first-line treatment for this condition but many women do not seek help from their ordinary health care service. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Genetic, molecular and functional analyses of factor I - an inhibitor of the complement system

    Författare :Sara Nilsson; Malmö Proteinkemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome; deficiency; Complement inhibition; factor I; renal disease;

    Sammanfattning : Factor I (FI) is a serine protease that inhibits the complement system by cleaving activated C3 and C4 complement proteins, in the presence of cofactors. Mutations in the gene coding for FI have been identified in complete FI deficient- and atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) patients. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Conséquences d’un stress chronique sur la barrière de mucus intestinal chez le rat : effet du probiotique Lactobacillus farciminis

    Författare :Stéphanie da Silva; Muriel Mercier-Bonin; Annick Bernadier-Donadille; Bruno Pot; Nathalie Juge; France Clermont Ferrand University UMR454 INRA; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Background. Despite a large body of literature incriminating mucus alterations in the pathogenesis of Intestinal Bowel Diseases (IBD), structural and physical changes in the mucus layer remain poorly understood in the micro-inflammatory context of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). 4. 24. On the stimulatory effect of microglial cells on angiogenesis

    Författare :Simin Rymo; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :microglia; angiogenesis; aortic ring;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Angiogenesis, the process by which new vessels sprout from pre-existing vessels, is fundamental to development, tissue growth and repair. The main aim of this thesis was to investigate the role of microglia on angiogenesis. We adapted the rat ex vivo/in vitro aortic ring model to the mouse in a 3-D culture system. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Pathogenesis of infections related to foreign devices within the cerebral ventricles

    Författare :Fredrik Lundberg; Avdelningen för medicinsk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; bacteriology; Microbiology; CSF-shunt; complement activation; vitronectin; hydrocephalus; coagulase-negative staphylococci; virology; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Coagulase-negative staphyloccoci (CoNS) are the most frequently isolated micro-organisms from infected cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunts and temporary ventricular drainage catheters, used in modern neurosurgery. CoNS originate from the skinflora of the patient or the surgeon and gain access to the surface of the implant at the insertion, but the infection can erupt up to a year later or more. LÄS MER
