  1. 21. Design and development of electrochemical sensors with application in bioanalysis

    Författare :Kinga Zor; Bioteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bioanalysis; electrochemistry; sensor; biosensor; miniaturization; real sample; immunoassay; μTAS;

    Sammanfattning : There is a continuous search for reliable, robust, easy to use, portable and cost effective analytical tools with applications in food industry, biomedicine, environmental monitoring and homeland security. The main focus of this thesis is the development of electrochemical (bio)sensors and bioanalysis systems (to be applied in two major fields of interest: food & beverage industry and biomedical research) for monitoring key analytes in complex matrices, such as: meat samples, fermentation broths, and cell culture media. Sammanfattning : The recent development of microscopy methods, biological assays and bioanalytical sensors has significantly advanced the understanding of biological systems. Surface-based bioanalytical sensors have in recent years gained increased interest thanks to improvements in sensitivity and simplicity to use. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Biosensor-based Methods for Detection of Microcystins as Early Warning Systems

    Författare :Lesedi Lebogang; Bioteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microcystins; Drinking water; Adda-specific monoclonal antibodies; Biosensors; Capacitive; Amperometric; Flow-ELISA; Microcontact imprinting;

    Sammanfattning : Cyanobacteria blooms are a water menace since they produce potent toxins that have been implicated in poisonings and deaths of humans and animals after consumption or contact with cyanotoxin-contaminated water. Of particular concern are cyanotoxins called microcystins, which are hepatotoxic cyclic peptides known to promote development of liver tumors in humans and animals. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Adaptive Responses by Transcriptional Regulators to small molecules in Prokaryotes : Structural studies of two bacterial one-component signal transduction systems DntR and HpNikR

    Författare :Cyril Dian; Peter Brzezinski; Séan McSweeney; Elisabeth Sauer-Eriksson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; transcription regulator; bacterial biosensor; LysR family; Inducer-binding; nickel-sensing; NikR; signal transduction system; Helicobacter pylori; Biochemistry; Biokemi; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Prokaryotes are continually exposed to variations in their environment. Survival in unstable milieu requires a wide range of transcriptional regulators (TRs) that respond to specific environmental and cellular signals by modulating gene expression and provide an appropriate physiological response to external stimuli.
