  1. 21. Bringing Together Lean, Simulation and Optimization : Defining a framework to support decision-making in system design and improvement

    Författare :Ainhoa Goienetxea Uriarte; Amos H. C. Ng; Matías Urenda Moris; Stewart Robinson; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; lean; simulation; optimization; decision-making; Production and Automation Engineering; Produktion och automatiseringsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The rapid changes in the market including globalization, the requirement for personalizedproducts and services by the customers, shorter product life-cycles, the exponential growthof technological advances, and the demographical changes, will demand organizations toeffectively improve and design their systems in order to survive. This is the actual paradigmcharacterizing the industrial and service sectors. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Muscle Tenderness in Women

    Sammanfattning : Longstanding pain experienced from the musculoskeletal system is reported by one third of the Swedish population. The underlying mechanisms are not known in the majority of cases. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Ischemic brain damage following transient and moderate compression of sensorimotor cortex in Sprague-Dawley and diabetic Goto-Kakizaki rats

    Författare :Jurgita Kundrotiené; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Cortical compression; cerebral ischemia; neuroprotection; hyperglycemia; GotoKakizaki rats.;

    Sammanfattning : Several animal models have been developed to facilitate the investigation of biochemical, physiological, and neurological events after cerebral ischemia. In this study we present a new animal model which reliably describes morphological changes and neurological deficits produced by mild to moderate brain ischemia and which can be used to identify novel, potentially useful, neuroprotective agents. Sammanfattning : Midportion Achilles tendinopathy (tendinosis) is a troublesome painful condition, often characterised by pain, local swelling, tenderness and functional disability. Despite extensive research, the pathogenesis is poorly understood and treatment remains challenging. Features related to the peritendinous connective tissue can be of importance. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Influences of paratendinous innervation and non-neuronal substance P in tendinopathy : studies on human tendon tissue and an experimental model of Achilles tendinopathy

    Sammanfattning : Pain of the musculoskeletal system is one of the most common reasons for people seeking medical attention, and is also one of the major factors that prevent patients from working. Chronic tendon pain, tendinopathy, affects millions of workers world-wide, and the Achilles tendon is an important structure often afflicted by this condition. LÄS MER
