1. Microstructure of a cubic boron nitride tool material before and after hard turning
Sammanfattning : AbstractPolycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) materials are widely used in turning of hardened steels due to their beneficial mechanical properties like high hardness at elevated temperatures and, compared to diamond, for being more chemically stable towards iron at temperatures typical for turning operations (800-1000˚C). The wear of PCBN tools is influenced by several factors, like machining parameters, different tool geometries and varying composition of PCBN tools as well as workpiece material. LÄS MER
2. Microstructure of a cubic boron nitride tool material and its degradation during hard turning operations
Sammanfattning : Abstract. Polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) materials are widely used in turning operations of hardened steels due to their beneficial mechanical properties like maintained high hardness at elevated temperatures, adequate toughness and for being more chemically stable towards iron compared to diamond at temperatures typical for turning operations. 3. Mucus and mucins during gastrointestinal infections
Sammanfattning : The gastrointestinal tract is protected by a continuously secreted mucus layer formed by mucin glycoproteins. The mucus layer and mucins change dynamically during infection. The main focus of this thesis was to investigate the changes in mucin and the mucus layer in the gastrointestinal tract during infection with the gastrointestinal pathogens C. LÄS MER
4. Gastrointestinal mucosal protective mechanisms : Mudolatory effects of Heliobacter pyroli on the gastric mucus gel barrier and mucosal blood flow in vivo
Sammanfattning : The gastrointestinal mucus gel layer and blood flow are two important mechanisms for protection at the pre-epithelial and sub-epithelial levels, respectively. Helicobacter pylori might circumvent these mechanisms and elicit a chronic inflammatory response with consequent ulcers in the stomach and duodenum. LÄS MER
5. Nitrate, Nitrite and Nitric Oxide in Gastric Mucosal Defense
Sammanfattning : The human stomach normally contains high levels of bioactive nitric oxide (NO). This NO derives from salivary nitrate (NO3-) that is converted to nitrite (NO2-) by oral bacteria and thereafter non-enzymatically reduced in the acidic gastric lumen to NO. LÄS MER
