Sammanfattning : Abstract Hip and groin pain is common among athletes and the active population, and one important cause for this is femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS). To meet the diagnosis of FAIS, a combination of radiological findings (cam and/or pincer morphology), hip pain and clinical findings (reduced hip joint range of motion (ROM) and/or positive anterior impingement test (FADIR)) needs to be present. 8. Cardiac morphology and dynamics in Swedish elite orienteers : Evaluation of the right and left ventricle by two-dimensional and doppler echocardiography
Sammanfattning : Background. Between 1979 and 1992, 16 (15 males and 1 female) sudden unexpected cardiac deaths(SUCD) were reported in Swedish orienteers. Compared with previous reports in young athletes there was a 10- to 100-fold increase in the sudden death rate in young male elite orienteers during this period. 10. Short- and long-term consequences of sport-related concussion
Sammanfattning : Concussions are common in contact sports. Symptoms such as confusion and/or loss of consciousness following an impact to the head indicate that a sport-related concussion (SRC) has occurred. The symptoms normally resolve within 10-14 days following an SRC in adults although at least 10 % of athletes suffer from prolonged symptoms. LÄS MER
