36. Properties and Usage of Closed-loop Identification Methods
Sammanfattning : System identification deals with the construction of mathematical models of dynamical systems using measured data. Closed-loop identification is what results when performing the identification experiment under output feedback, that is, in closed loop. LÄS MER
37. Studies in the Dynamics of Residential Segregation
Sammanfattning : In four scientific papers, this thesis investigates the processes, in terms of movements of individuals, that have produced, reproduced and transformed patterns of residential segregation in Swedish cities between 1990 and 2000.Paper 1 examines processes of immigrant concentration, and the role of the Swedish majority population in these processes. 38. Urban Ecosystem Services : The Value of Green Spaces in Cities
Sammanfattning : In an ever more urban world, the role of green spaces in cities is increasingly highlighted for their capacity to provide ecosystem services for human well-being. Yet, the value of urban green spaces is still widely overlooked in urban policy and planning. LÄS MER
39. Traffic-related pollutants in urban snow : Concentrations, size fractionation, and release with snowmelt
Sammanfattning : In urban areas with seasonal snow, traffic-related pollutants such as solid particles, metals, chloride, organic pollutants, and microplastics (MPs) can be temporarily stored in snowbanks along roads and streets. When the snow melts, it releases the accumulated pollutants and the resulting snowmelt with diverse pollutants may partly infiltrate into the ground, or enter storm sewers and eventually be discharged into, and impact on, the receiving waters. 40. Recalling Urban Nature : Linking City People to Ecosystem Services
Sammanfattning : Societal development is dependent on the generation of ecosystem services (ES) to sustain it; however, many ES are degrading. This thesis investigates how social-ecological features behind practices of actor groups shape the generation of ES. LÄS MER
