  1. 6. Cooperative Variable Speed Limit Systems : Modeling and Evaluation using Microscopic Traffic Simulation

    Författare :Ellen Grumert; Jan Lundgren; Andreas Tapani; Wilco Burghout; Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut; []
    Nyckelord :Variable speed limit; Traffic; Micro; Simulation; Data exchange; Telecommunication; Vehicle; Transport infrastructure; Intelligent transport system; In vehicle information; 23 Road: ITS och traffic; 23 Road: ITS och traffic; 25 Road: Traffic theory; 25 Road: Traffic theory;

    Sammanfattning : During the last decades the road traffic has increased tremendously leading to congestion, safety issues and increased environmental impacts. As a result, many countries are continuously trying to find improvements and new solutions to solve these issues. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Gnutella Network Traffic : Measurements and Characteristics

    Författare :Dragos Ilie; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gnutella; P2P; network traffic; measurements; statistical models;

    Sammanfattning : Wide availability of computing resources at the edge of the network has lead to the appearance of new services based on peer-to-peer architectures. In a peer-to-peer network nodes have the capability to act both as client and server. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Evaluation of bus priority strategiesin coordinated traffic signal systems

    Författare :Johan Wahlstedt; Karl-Lennart Bång; Haris Koutsopoulos; Lars-Göran Mattsson; Kosonen Iisakki; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bus priority; public transport priority; transit priority; PTSP; TSP; traffic signal; traffic signal control; traffic signal control systems; self-optimising signal control; PRIBUSS; SIL simulation; traffic simulation; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing congestion and environmental concerns have evoked an interest in promoting urban Public Transport (PT) the last decades. In 2012 the City of Stockholm adopted an “Urban mobility strategy” stating that public transport, cycling and walking should be prioritised over cars in central Stockholm. LÄS MER

  4. 9. A method for analysing the traffic process in a safety perspective

    Författare :Åse Svensson; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; intermediate method; Accidents; pedestrian safety; safety hierarchy; severity; traffic conflicts; interaction; road user behaviour; traffic safety; traffic process; time to accidents; safety indicators; surrogate measures;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to extend the traffic safety assessment concept to also include normal road user behaviour, thus not only exceptional behaviours such as accidents and serious conflicts. The goal is to provide a framework for a more thorough description and analysis of safety related road user behaviour in order to better understand the traffic safety processes. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Modelling and Lagrangian control of mixed traffic: platoon coordination, congestion dissipation and state reconstruction

    Författare :Mladen Čičić; Karl Henrik Johansson; Miroslav Krstić; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; traffic control; Lagrangian control; mixed traffic models; Intelligent Transportation Systems; Connected and Automated Vehicles; traffic congestion; platoon coordination; moving bottlenecks; bottleneck decongestion; stop-and-go wave dissipation; traffic state reconstruction; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Traffic congestion is a constantly growing problem, with a wide array of negative effects on the society, from wasted time and productivity to elevated air pollution and reduction of safety. The introduction of connected, autonomous vehicles enables a new, Lagrangian paradigm for sensing andcontrolling the traffic, by directly using connected vehicles inside the traffic flow, as opposed to the classical, Eulerian paradigm, which relies on stationary equipment on the road.
