   Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on developing and characterizing novel models for studying osteoclasts with an emphasis on how mutations abolishing osteoclastic acidification affect osteoclast signaling and bone remodeling, as well as how to treat patients bearing these rare mutations. Bone remodeling is under normal circumstances a tightly balanced process where resorption of bone by osteoclasts is followed by adequate amounts of bone formation by osteoblasts. LÄS MER

Evidence from Random Election OutcomesWe use elections data in which a large number of ties in vote counts between candidates are resolved via a lottery to study the personal incumbency advantage. We benchmark non-experimental regression discontinuity design (RDD) estimates against the estimate produced by this experiment that suggests that there is no personal incumbency advantage. LÄS MER

   Sammanfattning : When designing controllers with robust performance and stabilization requirements, H-infinity synthesis is a common tool to use. These controllers are often obtained by solving mathematical optimization problems.
