36. Photoelectron Spectroscopy on HCl and DCl : Synchrotron Radiation Based Studies of Dissociation Dynamics
Sammanfattning : Dissociation dynamics of the ionized molecules HCl and the deuterated system DCl has been studied in gas-phase using synchrotron based photoelectron spectroscopy (PES).The inner-valence "(4σ)-1" photoionization band for DCl and HCl was recorded using maximum resolution in order to probe an interference pattern between a dissociative and a bound electronic state. 37. Energy and intensity modulated radiation therapy with electrons
Sammanfattning : In recent years intensity modulated radiation therapy with photons (xIMRT) has gained attention due to its ability to reduce the dose in the tissues close to the tumour volume. However, this technique also results in a large low dose volume. LÄS MER
38. High Performance Computing for the Optimization of Radiation Therapy Treatment Plans
Sammanfattning : Radiation therapy is a clinical field in which computer simulations play a crucial role. Before patients undergo radiation therapy, an individual treatment plan for each patient needs to be created based on the specifics of their case (a process often referred to as \emph{treatment planning}). 39. Oxidized nucleotides as a predictor of radiation sensitivity
Sammanfattning : The direct and indirect effects of IR can lead to DNA damage and activation of DNA repair. The indirect effects of ionizing radiation mediated by reactive oxygen species (ROS) which produced through radiolysis of water and if not taken care of by the antioxidant system, can also give rise to oxidative stress. 40. Predicting Normal Tissue Complications after External Beam Radiation Therapy
Sammanfattning : Although modern external beam radiation (EBRT) therapy has the ability to conform the dose tightly around the volume to be treated, unwanted irradiation to surrounding normal tissue is still a problem. The probability of a side effect arising in normal tissue after EBRT is commonly modelled by an s-shaped dose-volume response curve where dose or volume are plotted against response (i. LÄS MER
