11. Optical and laser diagnostics : The versatility of Imaging
Sammanfattning : Optical and laser diagnostics is a field where optical techniques are developed that offer remote, non-intrusive measurements in order to characterise a system. Imaging is a big part of this field and the versatility it offers makes it a great tool in the hands of researchers and in practical applications. LÄS MER
12. Quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain : Applications for Tissue Segmentation and Multiple Sclerosis
Sammanfattning : Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a sensitive technique for assessing white matter (WM) lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS), but there is a low correlation between MRI findings and clinical disability. Because of this, other pathological changes are of interest, including changes in normal appearing white matter (NAWM) and diffusely abnormal white matter (DAWM). LÄS MER
13. Methodological aspects of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging
Sammanfattning : The objective of this research was to facilitate the use of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging by developing and validating methods and applications. More specifically:we determined the optimal tracer kinetic model for analysis of 11C-PIB and evaluated the performance of two simpler measures, retention index (RI) and standardized uptake value (SUV), in the quantification of cardiac 11C-PIB uptake in amyloidosis. 14. Cancer imaging and image analysis methods in whole-body MRI and PET/MRI
Sammanfattning : Diagnostic medical imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) can provide structural and functional assessments of the whole body. This has great value for potentially systemic diseases such as cancer. LÄS MER
15. Characterization of [18F]flutemetamol binding properties : A β-amyloid PET imaging ligand
Sammanfattning : The criteria for diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease (AD) have recently been revised to include the use of biomarkers for the in vivo presence of β-amyloid, one of the neuropathological hallmarks of AD. Examples of such biomarkers are positron emission tomography (PET) β-amyloid specific ligands, including [18F]flutemetamol. LÄS MER
