  1. 16. Structural studies of three cell signaling proteins : crystal structures of EphB1, PTPA, and YegS

    Författare :Amin Bakali; Pär Nordlund; Wenqing Xu; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; protein production; structural genomics; cell signaling; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Kinases and phosphatases are key regulatory proteins in the cell. The disruption of their activities leads ultimately to the abolishment of the homeostasis of the cell, and is frequently correlated with cancer. EphB1 is a member of the largest family of receptor tyrosine kinases. It is associated with neurogenesis, angiogenesis, and cancer. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Reciprocal regulation of endocytosis and signaling in Drosophila epithelial development and aberrant growth

    Författare :Dan Liu; Christos Samakovlis; Vasilios Tsarouhas; Héctor Herranz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; endocytosis; protein sorting; RTK signaling; airway maturation; tumor-suppressive cell competition; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : Endocytosis and subsequent endosomal sorting of plasma membrane proteins and nutrients are essential for cellular homeostasis. Previous work has uncovered several different internalization mechanisms, endosomal sorting routes and aspects of their regulation. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Computer Simulation of Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Reaction Mechanisms and Dihydrofolate Reductase Inhibition

    Författare :Karin Kolmodin; Ernst-Walter Knapp; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biotechnology; Molekylär bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Protein tyrosine phosphatases catalyse the hydrolysis of phosphotyrosine residues in proteins, which is an important reaction in the cell signalling system. The three dimensional structure of such a protein tyrosine phosphatase has been used in a computational study of the reaction mechanism at the atomic level. LÄS MER

  4. 19. T-Cell Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase, a Regulator of the PDGF Signaling Pathway

    Författare :Susann Karlsson; Carina Hellberg; Carl-Henrik Heldin; Bengt Hallberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PDGF; TC-PTP; receptor trafficking; PK-M2; Medical cell biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is a potent stimulator of cell growth, survival and motility. PDGF exerts its function by binding to specific tyrosine kinase receptors, initiating receptor auotphosphorylation and initiation of specific signaling pathways that regulates the cellular response. 5. 20. The developing rat kidney : the dopamine system and related serine/threonine kinases and phosphatases

    Författare :Johan Svennilson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :apoptosis; confocal immunofluorescence; DARPP-32; dopamine; foetal renal development; hypertension; in situ hybridization; metanephric culture; mouse; nephron number; PKC; PP1 PP2A; protein phosphorylation; rat;

    Sammanfattning : The kidney originates from the fusion and conversion of two tissues: the metanephric mesenchyme and the ureter epithelium, an evagination from the Wolffian duct. Although a number of candidate molecules have been shown to be of importance for the differentiation of the embryonic kidney, many of the signalling pathway leading to this development are still obscure.
