  1. 1. β2 integrin-induced signal transduction in granulocytic cells

    Författare :Carina Hellberg; Maurice B. Hallett; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Neutrophil granulocytcs are highly mobile, phagocytic white blood cells whose motile functions are critically dependent on adhesion receptors belonging to the B2 integrin subfamily. These integrins are vital for neutrophil functions due to their ability to generate intracellular signals. LÄS MER

  2. 2. T-Cell Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase, a Regulator of the PDGF Signaling Pathway

    Författare :Susann Karlsson; Carina Hellberg; Carl-Henrik Heldin; Bengt Hallberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PDGF; TC-PTP; receptor trafficking; PK-M2; Medical cell biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is a potent stimulator of cell growth, survival and motility. PDGF exerts its function by binding to specific tyrosine kinase receptors, initiating receptor auotphosphorylation and initiation of specific signaling pathways that regulates the cellular response. 3. 3. Combination Therapies Targeting PDGF and VEGF Signaling Pathways in Solid Tumors

    Författare :Agnieszka Kłosowska-Wardęga; Carina Hellberg; Carl-Henrik Heldin; Per Lindahl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) are independently involved in several cancer-associated mechanisms including autocrine stimulation of cancer cells, stimulation of tumor angiogenesis and regulation of interstitial fluid pressure (IFP). The scope of this thesis was to investigate the combinatory effect of anti-VEGF and anti-PDGF treatment on tumor angiogenesis and tumor IFP. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Investigating the function of Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase

    Författare :Emma Vernersson Lindahl; Bengt Hallberg; Ruth Palmer; Göran Roos; Carina Hellberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ALK; nervous system; knockout; development; Jelly-Belly; Pathology; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) was discovered in 1994, as a chromosomal translocation, t(2;5)(p23;q35), often seen in Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphomas (ALCL). Since then ALK has been extensively studied in this disease as well as in different model organisms. LÄS MER
