    Sammanfattning : Background: Bone metastases occur in most patients with advanced hormone-refractory prostate cancer causing pain, pathologic fractures, and spinal cord compression. Few studies specifically address surgical treatment of metastatic spinal cord compression (MSCC) in prostate cancer. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer related death. It is a heterogeneous disease involving multiple molecular pathways that result in differing phenotypes. Individual variability in CRC susceptibility is influenced by genetic variation, such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). 3. 18. Ovarian cancer. Biomarkers, surgical outcome and survival

    Författare :Pia Leandersson; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; epitelial äggstokscancer; biomarkörer; kirurgi; incidens; överlevnad; epithelial ovarian cancer; biomarkers; ovarian cancer surgery; incidence; survival;

    Sammanfattning : Ovarian cancer is the eighth most common female cancer worldwide and the most lethal of the gynaecologic malignancies. Around 700 women are diagnosed in Sweden per year. Due to vague symptoms most of the patients are diagnosed with late-stage epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and prognosis is poor, with a five-year survival of 49%. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Mismatch repair deficiency in colorectal cancer : prognosis and prediction for basic treatment strategies

    Sammanfattning : Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a significant healthcare problem worldwide, being the third most common cancer and the fourth most frequent cause of cancer death. Environmental and dietary factors such as alcohol abuse, cigarette smoking, and genetic predisposition seem to constitute the main aetiologies. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : IntroductionProstate cancer (PCa) is the most common cancer among men in Sweden. The clinical course varies considerably, which makes it difficult to predict the prognosis in the individual case. In order to explore the early as well as the late course of the disease, large study groups and population-based cohorts are necessary. LÄS MER
