  1. 1. Human exposure to perfluoroalkyl acids

    Författare :Robin Vestergren; Ian T. Cousins; Stuart Harrad; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids (PFCAs) and perfluoroalkane sulfonic acids (PFSAs) are persistent organic contaminants which have been globally measured in human serum samples at low μg L-1 concentrations. One hypothesis, the so-called "indirect hypothesis", postulates that exposure to precursor compounds is responsible for the presence of PFCAs and PFSAs in human serum. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ultra-short-chain perfluoroalkyl acids : Environmental occurrence, sources and distribution

    Författare :Maria Björnsdotter; Ingrid Ericson Jogsten; Anna Kärrman; Leo W. Y. Yeung; Tom Harner; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PFASs; TFA; TFMS; point sources; precursors; solar radiation; atmospheric oxidation; atmospheric deposition; flux; Arctic;

    Sammanfattning : Ultra-short-chain perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) is a group of highly fluorinated and very stable chemicals. Their small molecular structure in combination with the acidic functional group result in highly polar compounds and concern has been raised as these substances may threaten our drinking water supplies. 3. 3. Transport of perfluoroalkyl acids from the ocean to the atmosphere via sea spray aerosol

    Författare :Bo Sha; Ian Cousins; Matthew Salter; Jana Johansson; Jonathan P. Benskin; Cora Young; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Perfluoroalkyl acids; PFAAs; Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances; PFAS; atmospheric transport; sea spray aerosol; industrial sources; Environmental Sciences; miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) are a subgroup of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) that have been widely used in commercial and industrial applications. PFAAs are very persistent in the environment and some can bioaccumulate and have adverse health effects on human health. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Analysis of Perfluoroalkyl Acids in Swedish Biota : Temporal trends, tissue distribution and toxicity

    Författare :Katrin Holmström; Urs Berger; Gregg Tomy; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Environmental chemistry; PFOS; PFAS; pollutant; Baltic guillemot; peregrine falcon; Monoporeia affinis; time trend; toxicity; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Persistent organic compounds; Persistenta organiska föreningar; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Perfluorinated alkyl acids (PFAS) are ubiquitous environmental contaminants. They are found in high concentrations in top predators worldwide, with perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) as the predominant compound. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Sources, transport and fate of perfluoroalkyl acids in the atmosphere

    Författare :Jana Johansson; Ian Cousins; Tom Harner; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Perfluorinated alkyl acids; PFOS; PFOA; Isomers; Sources; Atmospheric transport; Sea spray; Gas-particle partitioning; Volatilisation; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) are man-made chemicals which have been observed in the global environment, even in locations far away from where they are emitted. These persistent substances are taken up in humans and biota and may have toxic effects. LÄS MER
