  2. 2. Neutrophil interactions with Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus

    Författare :Julia Uhlmann; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus are Gram-positive bacteria that share many features, including clinical presentations and pathogenic mechanisms, and yet, they still have unique properties. They both cause diseases ranging from uncomplicated infections to severe invasive diseases, such as sepsis and toxic shock syndrome, as well as severe tissue infections including necrotizing fasciitis and necrotizing pneumonia. 3. 3. Analysis of HIF-1alpha degradation and function

    Författare :Helder André; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha; protein degradation; prolyl hydroxylases; adenoassociated virus; gene therapy; angiogenesis.;

    Sammanfattning : HIF-1 is a heterodimeric complex of two bHLH/PAS transcription factors, HIF- 1alpha and ANRT. In contrast to the constitutively expressed ARNT, HIF-1alpha protein levels are regulated by oxygen tension. Under normoxic conditions, HIF-1alpha is rapidly degraded by the ubiquitinproteasome pathway. LÄS MER
