  2. 37. A multi-prism lens for hard X-Rays

    Författare :Björn Cederström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; x-ray; optics; refractive; lens; mammography; synchrotron; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes a new type of refractive lens for hardx-rays. It is shown that a linear array of prisms, slightlyinclined with respect to the optical axis, will form a linefocus at a certain distance from the lens. Hence, the namemulti-prism lens. LÄS MER

  4. 39. Filtering extracting features from infrasound data

    Författare :José Chilo; Thomas Lindblad; Christian Bohm; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; infrasound; seismic signals; feature extraction; wavelets; fingerprints; mining; magnetometer; Physics; Fysik; Electronics;

    Sammanfattning : The goal of the research presented in this thesis is to extract features, to filter and get fingerprints from signals detected by infrasound, seismic and magnetic sensors. If this can be achieved in a real time system, then signals from various events can be detected and identified in an otherwise torrent data. LÄS MER

  5. 40. Quantum effects in nanoscale Josephson junction circuits

    Författare :Silvia Corlevi; David B. Haviland; Jukka Pekola; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Josephson junctions; Josephson junction arrays; electromagnetic environment; Cooper pair transistor; parity effects; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the results of an experimental study on single-charge effects in nanoscale Josephson junctions and Cooper pair transistors (CPTs). In nanoscale Josephson junctions the charging energy EC becomes significant at sub-Kelvin temperatures and single-charge effects, such as the Coulomb blockade of Cooper pair tunneling, influence the transport properties.
