  1. 1. Hydrological and sediment yield modelling in Lake Tana Basin, Blue Nile Ethiopia

    Författare :Shimelis Gebriye Setegn; Bijan Dargahi; Anders Wörman; C. Green Rossi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SWAT; Lake Tana; Blue Nile; hydrological modelling; watershed modelling; MCE; SUFI-2; GLUE; ParaSol; streamflows; sediment yield; erosion; water balance; model calibration; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Land and water resources degradation are the major problems on the Ethiopian highlands. Poor land use practices and improper management systems have played a significant role in causing high soil erosion rates, sediment transport and loss of agricultural nutrients. So far limited meas-ures have been taken to combat the problems. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modelling Hydrological and Hydrodynamic Processes in Lake Tana Basin, Ethiopia

    Författare :Shimelis Gebriye Setegn; Bijan Dargahi; Nicola Fohrer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Lake Tana; Climate Change; SWAT; Hydrological Modeling; Hydrodynamic; GEMSS; MCE; Streamflow; Sediment yield; Hydrology; Hydrologi; Water engineering; Vattenteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Lake Tana Basin is of significant importance to Ethiopia concerning water resources aspects and the ecological balance of the area. The growing high demands in utilizing the high potentials of water resource of the Lake to its maximal limit, pictures a disturbing future for the Lake. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Detection of Myocardial Ischemia using Real-Time Myocardial Contrast Echocardiography

    Författare :Petri Gudmundsson; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; myocardial contrast echocardiography; MCE; stress echocardiography; adenosine; perfusion; real-time; visual; quantative; wall motion; power modulation; bedside; SPECT; coronary insufficiency;

    Sammanfattning : Diagnostisering av syrebrist i hjärtmuskeln med hjälp av kontrastförstärkt ultraljudsundersökning av hjärtmuskelns genomblödning. Ultraljudsundersökning av hjärtat (ekokardiografi) används mycket inom hjärtsjukvården idag, oftast för att utreda hjärtats och hjärtklaffarnas anatomi och funktion. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study strongly coupled pairs of spin vortices, in a configurationsuch that the cores attract while external fields act to pull them apart, with potential applications in magnetic random access memory (MRAM) and oscillators.Inertial decoupling of the cores has been studied and can be achieved with weak nanosecond pulses by the help of anharmonicity.
