  1. 16. A Co-Simulation Tool Applied to Hydraulic Percussion Units

    Författare :Håkan Andersson; Daniel Leidermark; Kjell Simonsson; Joakim Holmberg; Pär Jonsén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : In this dissertation, a co-simulation tool is presented that is meant to comprise a more comprehensive environment for modelling and simulation of hydraulic percussion units, which are used in hydraulic hammers and rock drills. These units generates the large impact forces, which are needed to demolish concrete structures in the construction industry or to fragment rock when drilling blast holes in mine drifting. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Numerical simulations of flow discharge and behaviours in spillways

    Författare :Shicheng Li; Anders Ansell; James Yang; Sébastien Erpicum; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Spillway; step geometry; discharge prediction; flow behaviour; machine learning; computational fluid dynamics; Utskov; steggeometri; avbördningsuppskattning; flödesbeteende strömningsegenskap; maskininlärning; flödesdynamisk beräkningsanalys numerisk simulering; Betongbyggnad; Concrete Structures;

    Sammanfattning : A spillway is an important component of a dam and serves as a flood release structure. It achieves controlled discharge of water and protects the dam from overtopping. The majority of the hydropower dams were built before the 1980s, and many spillways are undersized in light of the present design flood guidelines. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Network Modelling for Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Cellulose Fibre Fluff

    Författare :Susanne Heyden; Byggnadsmekanik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; hydraulic engineering; Civil engineering; fracture; fibres; computer simulation; offshore technology; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : A network mechanics model for cellulose fibre fluff is proposed. 2D and 3D versions of the model have been implemented and the influence of various micro-level parameters on the global mechanical performance has been determined by means of computer simulations. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Soil compaction: effects on soil hydraulic properties and preferential water flow

    Författare :Mona Mossadeghi Björklund; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Soil compaction caused by passage of agricultural machinery over the surface is an issue in many agricultural soils with a high clay content. Compaction is known to modify soil pore structure and soil hydraulic properties, but can also affect the occurrence of preferential flow. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Multi-Scale Surface Water-Groundwater Interaction : Implications for GroundwaterDischarge Patterns

    Författare :Babak Brian Mojarrad; Anders Wörman; Joakim Riml; Jan Fleckenstein; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; groundwater flow; hyporheic zone; multi-scale modeling; spectral analysis; fragmentation of discharge zones; characteristic parameters; Hydraulik och teknisk hydrologi; Hydraulic and Hydrologic Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Rivers and aquifers are continuously exchanging water, driven by processes that occur on various temporal and spatial scales, ranging from small streambed features to large geological structures. The interaction between these two components occurs in permeable sediments below the stream channel, called the hyporheic zone. LÄS MER
