  1. 6. Towards Efficient Monte Carlo Calculations in Reactor Physics : Criticality, Kinetics and Burnup Problems

    Författare :Ignas Mickus; Jan Dufek; Andrea Zoia; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kärnenergiteknik; Nuclear Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a compilation of work focused on Monte Carlo crit-icality, kinetics and burnup calculations in reactor physics. Performing suchcalculations usually comes at a high computing cost. Therefore, the main mo-tivation behind the presented work is lowering the computing cost of MonteCarlo calculations. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Coil Design for a Mirror Based Fusion-Fission Reactor

    Författare :Anders Hagnestål; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The SFLM Hybrid project aims to show that it is probable that a fusion-fission reactor can be constructed with a single-cell minimum B mirror machine as a neutron source. In this licentiate thesis, theoretical work has been done with the magnetic coil system of such a device and also with the overall concept. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Modelling and Simulation of Reactor Pressure Vessel Failure during Severe Accidents

    Författare :Peng Yu; Weimin Ma; Walter Villanueva; Sevostian Bechta; Florian Fichot; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; RPV failure; thermo-fluid-structure coupling; creep modelling; melt pool heat transfer; severe accident; CFD; FEA; transIVR;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at the development of new coupling approaches and new models for the thermo-fluid-structure coupling problem of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) failure during severe accidents and related physical phenomena. The thesis work consists of five parts: (i) development of a three-stage creep model for RPV steel 16MND5, (ii) development of a thermo-fluid-structure coupling approach for RPV failure analysis, (iii) performance comparison of the new approach that uses volume loads mapping (VLM) for data transfer with the previous approach that uses surface loads mapping (SLM), (iv) development of a lumped-parameter code for quick estimate of transient melt pool heat transfer, and (v) development of a hybrid coupling approach for efficient analysis of RPV failure. 4. 9. Engineering of thermometric biosensors and characterisation of redox enzymes for improved performance of biosensors/biofuel cells

    Författare :Maria Yakovleva; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Flow injection analysis; thermometric calorimetric biosensor; enzyme thermistor; immobilised enzyme reactor; amperometric biosensor; enzymatic biofuel cell; bioanode; pyranose dehydrogenase; cellobiose dehydrogenase; direct electron transfer; mediated electron transfer; matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization; glycosite mapping;

    Sammanfattning : The present work is mainly focused on the development of enzyme-based bioanalytical devices, which can further be applied as analytical tools for industrial, medical and environmental applications. The first part of the work deals with the practical applications of thermometric biosensors for determination of various sugars (fructose and lactose) in a real samples. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Graphene : a vision to the future of smart E-Textile application

    Författare :Milad Asadi; Nawar Kadi; Priniotakis Georgios; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; graphene; graphene-coated e-textiles; catalyst immobilisation; hybrid graphene-catalyst multifunctional textiles; dye removal; e-textile; electro-Fenton; Fenton; wastewater treatment; Textil och mode generell ; Textiles and Fashion General ;

    Sammanfattning : Smart textile is a term referring to the textiles that could interact with their environment, receiving input and giving output based on their applications. Among smart textiles, electrically driven smart textiles (E-textiles) are being produced by various methods and materials integrated with textile substances. LÄS MER
