  1. 1. Aspects of diagnosis and treatment of hypopituitarism in adult life

    Författare :Helena Filipsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :hypopituitarism; pituitary; diagnosis; treatment; GHD; central hypothyroidism; genetic; idiopathic; ACTH insufficiency; discontinuation;

    Sammanfattning : Management of adult patients with hypopituitarism can improve with better char¬ac¬terisation of idiopathic pituitary insufficiency (IPI) and clearer diagnosis of central hy¬pothy¬roidism (CH). Moreover, optimised treatment strategies for glucocorticoid (GC) re¬placement therapy and of long-term growth hormone (GH) in GH deficiency (GHD) are needed. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Calcium Homeostasis in Patients with Graves' Disease

    Författare :Maria Annerbo; Per Hellman; Peter Stålberg; Peyman Björklund; Filipsson Nyström Helena; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Graves Disease; Calcium homeostasis; Total thyroidectomy; Bone metabolism; Calcium sensing receptor; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Patients with Graves´ Disease (GD) have a higher risk of developing more severe and prolonged hypocalcaemia after total thyroidectomy (TT) than patients who undergo surgery for benign atoxic goitre. Since TT is the most effective treatment for GD, it is crucial to identify mechanisms for postoperative hypocalcaemia. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Microbially mediated formation of birnessite-type manganese oxides and subsequent incorporation of rare earth elements, Ytterby mine, Sweden

    Författare :Susanne Sjöberg; Christophe Dupraz; Rienk Smittenberg; Volker Brüchert; Helena Filipsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microbial diversity; manganese oxides; birnessite; rare earth elements; subterranean; Ytterby mine; geokemi; Geochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Microbes exert extensive control on redox element cycles. They participate directly orindirectly in the concentration and fractionation of elements by influencing the partitioningbetween soluble and insoluble species. LÄS MER
