  1. 1. Microbially mediated formation of birnessite-type manganese oxides and subsequent incorporation of rare earth elements, Ytterby mine, Sweden

    Författare :Susanne Sjöberg; Christophe Dupraz; Rienk Smittenberg; Volker Brüchert; Helena Filipsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microbial diversity; manganese oxides; birnessite; rare earth elements; subterranean; Ytterby mine; geokemi; Geochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Microbes exert extensive control on redox element cycles. They participate directly orindirectly in the concentration and fractionation of elements by influencing the partitioningbetween soluble and insoluble species. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Recruitment ecology and fungal interactions in mycoheterotrophic Ericaceae

    Författare :Veronika A. Johansson; Ove Eriksson; Andrew Taylor; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 454 Pyrosequencing; Dispersal limitation; Dust seeds; Ectomycorrhiza; Ericaceae; Microsite limitation; Monotropa hypopitys; Mycoheterotroph; Pyroleae; Seed limitation; Stable isotopes; Subterranean seedling; Symbiotic germination; Tricholoma; Plant Ecology; växtekologi;

    Sammanfattning : There are generally two contrasting alternatives to what limits recruitment in plants, namely the availability of seeds (seed limitation) or the quality or quantity of suitable sites (microsite limitation). Dust seeds, the smallest existing seeds, lack or have minimal nutrient reserves. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Contested Landscapes/Contested Heritage : history and heritage in Sweden and their archaeological implications concerning the interpretation of the Norrlandian past

    Sammanfattning : This case study explores how geo-political power structures influence and/or determine the conception, acceptance and maintenance of what is considered to be valid archaeological knowledge. The nature of this contingency is exemplified through an examination of how the prehistory of Norrland, a region traditionally considered and portrayed as peripheral vis-à-vis the centre-South, was interpreted and presented by Swedish archaeologists during the 20th century. 4. 4. Towards Enabling Exploration of Planetary Subterranean Environments using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

    Författare :Akash Patel; George Nikolakopoulos; Savvas Loizou; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Robotics and Artificial Intelligence; Robotik och artificiell intelligens;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a novel navigation framework established to enable the exploration of planetary subterranean areas with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The key contributions of this thesis work form a robot-safe rapid navigation framework that utilizes a novel bifurcating frontier-based exploration approach. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Boplatsvallen som bostad i Norrbottens kustland 5000 till 2000 före vår tideräkning : en studie av kontinuitet och förändring
