1. Controlling Fusarium Head Blight in oat
Sammanfattning : Oats (Avena sativa) is a versatile crop grown worldwide for animal feed and human consumption. Humanoat consumption has recently risen due to its various health benefits. However, oats are susceptible toFusarium head blight (FHB) caused by various Fusarium fungi. FHB reduces yield and leads to mycotoxinaccumulation. LÄS MER
2. Diversity of wheat phyllosphere fungi in different agricultural production systems : with special reference to Fusarium
Sammanfattning : Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a disease affecting cereals world-wide caused by Fusarium fungi. The disease is of great economic importance especially since it is associated with contamination by harmful mycotoxins produced by Fusarium spp. LÄS MER
3. Interpretation of variation in omics data : Applications in proteomics for sustainable agriculture
Sammanfattning : Biomarkers are used in molecular biology to predict characteristics of interest and are applied in agriculture to accelerate the breeding of target traits. Proteomics has emerged as a promising technology for improved markers by providing a closer view to the phenotype than conventional genome-based approaches. LÄS MER
4. Use of rhizobacteria for the alleviation of plant stress
Sammanfattning : Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria are beneficial microbes able to induce plant stress tolerance and antagonise plant pathogens. The present study showed that wheat seedlings pre-treated with Bacillus thuringiensis AZP2 had better tolerance to severe drought stress and showed 78% greater plant biomass and five-fold higher survivorship compared to wheat seedlings not treated with the bacterium. 5. Novel Methods for Resistance Breeding in Winter Wheat
Sammanfattning : Breeding for disease resistance in winter wheat is a critical task in the agricultural industry, as plant diseases can significantly impact crop yield and quality. Traditional breeding methods are time-consuming, and disease resistance screenings are often cost and labour-demanding. LÄS MER
