1. Physiology of Escherichia coli in batch and fed-batch cultures with special emphasis on amino acid and glucose metabolism
Sammanfattning : The objective of this work is to better understand themetabolism and physiology ofEscherichiacoli(W3110) in defined medium cultures with thelong-term goal of improving cell yield and recombinant proteinproductivity. The order of amino acid utilization inE. colibatch cultures was investigated in a medium with16 amino acids and glucose. 2. Interpretation of variation in omics data : Applications in proteomics for sustainable agriculture
Sammanfattning : Biomarkers are used in molecular biology to predict characteristics of interest and are applied in agriculture to accelerate the breeding of target traits. Proteomics has emerged as a promising technology for improved markers by providing a closer view to the phenotype than conventional genome-based approaches. LÄS MER
3. Bioelectronic Nanosensor Devices for Environmental and Biomedical Analysis
Sammanfattning : A new type of Bioelectronic Nanosensor Device with potential applications in medicine, biotechnology and environmental analysis was designed. The nanosensor is based on RISFET (Regional Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor) technology. LÄS MER
4. Modeling and Simulation of a Multi Phase Semi-batch Reactor
Sammanfattning : The operation of an industrial semi-batch reactor is modeled and the flow of one reactant is investigated. In the reactor a strongly exothermic polymerization reaction takes place followed by a slightly exothermic reaction, and the objective is to minimize the duration of the operation of the process. 5. Development of a protein-free fed-batch process for NS0 cells: studies on regulation of proliferation
Sammanfattning : The overall objective of this study was to investigate how NS0 cell proliferation is regulated in protein-free media. The hypothesis was that during the adaptation to growth factor-free media, animal cell lines start to produce their own autocrine growth factors to support proliferation, and after some time in a culture the effects of these factors are lost which results in cessation of proliferation.
