16. Study of heat release rates of mining vehicles in underground hard rock mines
Sammanfattning : A unique study on fire safety in hard rock underground mines with focus on heat release rates of mining vehicles is presented. A literature inventory was conducted with respect to fires in underground hard rock mines, which revealed that the most common fire cause in underground mines was flammable liquid sprayed onto hot surface and the most common fire object was a vehicle. 17. Characterization of Gasoline Spray-Wall Interactions
Sammanfattning : Interest in spray-wall interactions has intensified recently because of the development of direct injection spark ignition engines. In this type of engine, impingement of the spray on the piston and cylinder walls leads to increased emissions of hydrocarbons and soot. LÄS MER
18. Flame-Retardant Cellulose Fibre/Fibril Based Materials via Layer-by-Layer Technique
Sammanfattning : According to an analysis conducted by the Swedish Chemicals Inspectorate in 2006, the approximate numbers of fire injuries per year in Sweden are 100 deaths, 700 major and 700 minor injuries.1 Observations also show that there has been an increase in the number of house fires during recent years. 19. Assessing the effects of societal injury control interventions
Sammanfattning : Injuries have emerged as one of the biggest public health issues of the 21th century. Yet, the causal effects of injury control strategies are often questioned due to a lack of randomized experiments. LÄS MER
20. Modeling of Diesel Fuel Spray Formation and Combustion in OpenFOAM
Sammanfattning : The formation, ignition, and combustion of fuel sprays are highly complex processes and the available models have various shortcomings. The development and application of multidimensional CFD models, that describe the different phenomena have rapidly increased through the use of commercial and public software (e.g. LÄS MER
