  1. 41. Mobilized Thermal Energy Storage for Heat Recovery for Distributed Heating

    Författare :Weilong Wang; Jinyue Yan; Erik Dahlquist; Jenny Holgersson; Hongxing Yang; Björn Karlsson; Mats Westermark; Louise Trygg; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Conventional energy sources—oil and electricity—dominate the heat supply market. Due to their rising costs and their negative environmental effects on global climate change, it is necessary to develop an alternative heat supply system featuring low cost, high energy efficiency and environment friendliness. Sammanfattning : With joint commitments by twenty-seven countries under the Paris Agreement, the European Union envisioned a resource-efficient and competitive economy without net emission of greenhouse gases by 2050. Immediate and massive efforts across sectors of energy, industry, and buildings will be required, and district heating (DH), through its ability to integrate efficiency measures on the supply and demand side, can play a central role. 4. 44. Emissions from realistic operation of residential wood pellets heating systems

    Författare :Kaung Myat Win; Rebei Bel Fdhila; Tomas Persson; Erik Dahlquist; Henrik Thunman; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wood pellet; Heating; Combustion; boiler; stove; emissions; particulate matter; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik; SWX-Energi; Integrerade system för sol och biobränsle;

    Sammanfattning : Emissions from residential combustion appliances vary significantly depending on the firing behaviours and combustion conditions, in addition to combustion technologies and fuel quality. Although wood pellet combustion in residential heating boilers is efficient, the combustion conditions during start-up and stop phases are not optimal and produce significantly high emissions such as carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon from incomplete combustion. 5. 45. Modelling Towards Control of Dynamic Systems : Applications on RDF Fired CFB Performance and DHN Distribution

    Författare :Nathan Zimmerman; Konstantinos Kyprianidis; Carl-Fredrik Lindberg; Erik Dahlquist; Natasa Nord; Mälardalens universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Heat and Power; Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler; District Heating; Model Predictive Control; Feed-Forward; CHP; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The combination of global warming along with increasing energy demand necessitates the importance of improving processes pertaining to the production and consumption of energy in combined heat and power plants. This thesis brings to light transient factors currently burdening process performance for circulating fluidized bed boilers (CFBs) combusting refuse derived fuels (RDFs) and district heating networks (DHN).
