36. Metal-Organic Complexes at Surfaces
Sammanfattning : The adsorption of different metal-organic complexes at surfaces was investigated by spectroscopic techniques (x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, resonant photoemission spectroscopy) and by scanning tunnelling microscopy. The investigation methods are able to provide atomic scale information on the studied systems, which moreover originates from the top-most atomic layers in a sample, meaning that they are surface sensitive techniques. 37. Electronic Properties of Metal Oxide Films Studied by Core Level Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : In this dissertation core level electron spectroscopy has been employed to study various aspects of metal oxide films grown under ultra-high vacuum conditions. Studies on in situ ion insertion of lithium into thin TiO2 systems were performed. LÄS MER
38. Development and Implementation of a Wireless Sensor Network for Volcanic Gas Emission Monitoring
Sammanfattning : Volcanic eruptions have great impacts on the life of the inhabitants in the surrounding areas and even to the global climate. Around 15-21×10 Tg/yr SO2 are injected to the troposphere and the stratosphere by the active volcanoes in the world[Halmer et al., 2002]. LÄS MER
39. Big Lessons from Small Bacteria : Following Photo-driven Processes in Photosynthetic Systems with Multidimensional Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Sunlight is a plentiful, continuously flowing source of energy, fuelling life on Earth as we know it. To use this potential, plants, cyanobacteria and photosynthetic bacteria evolved to absorb solar radiance and convert it into a chemically stable form by performing a process known as photosynthesis. 40. Heterometallic Oxo-Alkoxides of Europium, Titanium and Potassium
Sammanfattning : Coordination compounds of europium and titanium with oxide, ethoxide (OCH2CH3), iso-propoxide (OCH(CH3)2) and tert-butoxide (OC(CH3)3) ligands have been studied. These belong to the general class of oxo-alkoxides, MxOy(OR)z, with alkoxide ligands (OR) containing an organic, aliphatic part R. LÄS MER
