2. Physical properties and crystallization of theophylline co-crystals
Sammanfattning : This work focuses on the physical properties and crystallization of theophyline co-crystals. Co-crystals of theophylline with oxalic acid, glutaric acid and maleic acid have been investigated. The DSC curves of these co-crystals show that their first endothermic peaks are all lower than the melting temperature of theophylline. LÄS MER

Pulp mills will be transformed to biorefineries that produce not only pulp, but also biofuels and novel products from lignocellulose. 4. Metal-Organic Complexes at Surfaces
Sammanfattning : The adsorption of different metal-organic complexes at surfaces was investigated by spectroscopic techniques (x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, resonant photoemission spectroscopy) and by scanning tunnelling microscopy. The investigation methods are able to provide atomic scale information on the studied systems, which moreover originates from the top-most atomic layers in a sample, meaning that they are surface sensitive techniques. 5. Industrial applications and properties of oxalate-degrading enzymes
Sammanfattning : Oxalate-degrading enzymes were investigated with focus on potential applications in the pulp and paper industry and in active packaging. Changes introduced to make the pulp and paper industry more environmentally friendly, such as recirculation of process-water streams and elementary chlorine free bleaching of pulp, have led to increasing problems with precipitation of calcium oxalate.
