1. Photoelectron Spectroscopy of Cuprates and Manganites
Sammanfattning : Abstract In this thesis, the high temperature superconductors (HTSC) La2CuO4+x and Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d and the colossal magnetoresistive (CMR) La1-xSrxMnO3 have been studied by photoelectron spectroscopy. Techniques such as angular resolved photoemission (ARPES), resonant photoemission spectroscopy (RESPES) and x-ray absorption spectroscopy have been applied, using synchrotron radiation. LÄS MER
2. Photoelectron Spectroscopy of High Temperature Superconductors and Related Compounds
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the high temperature superconductors (HTSC) Ba0.6K0.4BiO3, La2CuO4+x, Bi2Sr2Ca1-xYxCu2O 8+d, Bi2Sr2CuO6+d as well as semiconducting Ba0.9K0. LÄS MER
3. Core Level Spectroscopy of Water and Ice
Sammanfattning : A core level spectroscopy study of ice and water is presented in this thesis. Combining a number of experiments and spectrum calculations based on density functional theory, changes in the local valence electronic structure are shown to be sensitive to the local H-bonding configurations. 4. Metal-Organic Complexes at Surfaces
Sammanfattning : The adsorption of different metal-organic complexes at surfaces was investigated by spectroscopic techniques (x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, resonant photoemission spectroscopy) and by scanning tunnelling microscopy. The investigation methods are able to provide atomic scale information on the studied systems, which moreover originates from the top-most atomic layers in a sample, meaning that they are surface sensitive techniques. 5. Electronic structure studies using resonant X-ray and photoemission spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the electronic structure of molecules and solids using resonant X-ray emission and photoemission spectroscopy. The use of monochromatic synchrotron radiation and the improved performance of the instrumentation have opened up the possibility of detailed analyses of the response of the electronic systems under interaction with X-rays.
