  1. 1. Conventional spiral and low-dose computed mandibular tomography for dental implant planning

    Författare :Annika Ekestubbe; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Artifacts; Dental Implantation; Endosseous; methods; Dental Implants; Humans; Jaw; Edentulous; radiography; Mandible; radiography; Patient Care Planning; Phantoms; Imaging; Radiation Dosage; Radiography; Dental; methods; Reproducibility of Results; Tomography; X-Ray; instrumentation; methods; Tomography; X-Ray Computed; methods;

    Sammanfattning : Absorbed doses to radiosensitive organs in the head and neck from pre-implant conventional hypocycloidal, conventional spiral and computed tomography (CT) were measured with thermoluminescent dosimeters in an anthropomorphic phantom head. From conventional tomography organ doses, except to the major salivary glands, were below 0.2 mGy. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On titanium release from dental implants and the inflammatory response

    Författare :Mattias Pettersson; Margareta Molin Thorén; Anders Johansson; Ann Wennerberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; titanium; inflammation; dental implants; peri-implantitis; odontologi; Odontology;

    Sammanfattning : In dentistry, dental implants have become a standard treatment for single tooth loss and partial and total edentulism since their introduction by P-I Brånemark in the 1960s. Long-term follow-up studies have shown that dental implantation is a predictable treatment, with an overall implant survival over ninety-five percent. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Single crystal sapphire dental implants : experimental and clinical studies

    Författare :Bahman Fartash; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :edentulous mandible; implantology; sapphire dental implants; overdenture; long-term follow-up; radiography; osseointegration; peri-implant mucosa; corrosion; cell culture; animal experiments; light microscopy; scanning electron microscopy; histometri;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this project was to evaluate single synthetic sapphire crystals as dental implants, with special reference to correlation of clinical and in vitro/in vivo methods of research. The laboratory studies confirmed chemical stability. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On hydroxyapatite modified peek implants for bone applications

    Författare :Pär Johansson; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dental Implants; Dentala implantat;

    Sammanfattning : People are living longer today than ever before, and the number of older adults will increase exponentially over the next coming years. However, that does not necessarily mean that they are living healthier. LÄS MER

  5. 5. On the Bone Tissue Response to Surface Chemistry Modifications of Titanium Implants

    Författare :Byung-Soo Kang; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Osseointegrated titanium implants; Magnesium and Calcium Incorporated Bioactive Titanium Oxide; Metal Plasma Immersion Ion Implantation and Deposition; Micro Arc Oxidation; Clinical Implants; In Vivo Bone Response;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Surface properties of titanium implants play an important role in osseointegration. From 1990, a lot of engineering techniques have been applied to dental implant productions for improving their clinical performance by changing surface properties. LÄS MER
