11. Electronic Structure and Film Morphology Studies of PTCDI on Metal/Semiconductor Surfaces
Sammanfattning : Organic semiconductors have received increasing attention over the last decades as potential alternatives for inorganic semiconductors. The properties of these films are highly dependent on their structural order. LÄS MER
12. Time-of-Flight Ion and Electron Spectroscopy: Applications and Challenges at Storage Ring Light Sources
Sammanfattning : This dissertation contains seven studies exploring novel instrumentation for ion and electron spectroscopy, including their applicability at storage ring light sources. The studies focus on instrumentation to study decay, dynamics and dissociation of photoexcited molecules, and the possibility to host such instruments at MAX~IV. LÄS MER
13. Preparation and properties of dried nanfibrillated cellulose and its nanocomposites
Sammanfattning : The production of fully degradable nanocomposites with biopolymers as matrix and cellulose nanofibrils with high aspect ratios as reinforcement is still a challenging task. Also, due to the large amount of hydroxyl groups on the surface of these nanofibrils, they tend to irreversibly agglomerate during drying. LÄS MER
14. Studies of human endogenous retroviruses and of the TGF-beta signaling pathway
Sammanfattning : The human genome, in common with all mammalian genomes, carries a high load of inheritable retroviral sequences. We have identified and characterized a novel family of these endogenous retroviruses and have named this family HERV-F as based on the primer binding sites of three members. LÄS MER
15. Attraction and resistance in the Picea abies – Ips typographus system : host choice in the Eurasian spruce bark beetle
Sammanfattning : Decades of research have gathered detailed knowledge about the Eurasian spruce bark beetle (Ips typographus L.) and its interaction with its host tree Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) H Karst). LÄS MER
