16. Medical Laser-Induced Thermotherapy - Models and Applications
Sammanfattning : Heat has long been utilised as a therapeutic tool in medicine. Laser-induced thermotherapy aims at achieving the local destruction of lesions, relying on the conversion of the light absorbed by the tissue into heat. In interstitial laser-induced thermotherapy, light is focused into thin optical fibres, which are placed deep into the tumour mass. LÄS MER
17. Nanomechanical Studies and Applications of Cantilever Sensors
Sammanfattning : Different aspects of cantilevers to be used as sensors have been studied. Silicon cantilevers have been fabricated and integrated on CMOS chips using low-energy electron beam lithography in order to reduce the irradiation damage to the circuits. The released and integrated cantilevers have been tested and used as mass sensors in air. LÄS MER
18. Measurements of Film Flow Rate in Heated Tubes with Various Axial Power Distributions
Sammanfattning : Measurements of film mass flow rate for annular, diabatic steam-water flow in tubes are presented. The measurements were carried out with four axial power distributions and at several axial positions at conditions typical for boiling water reactors, i.e. 7 MPa pressure and total mass flux in a range from 750 to 1750 kg/m2s. 19. Laser Photodetachment of Negative Ions - Fundamental Research and Applications
Sammanfattning : Photodetachment studies of atomic and molecular negative ions in the gas phase are presented. Negative ions are loosely bound quantum systems whose existence is strongly dependent on the correlations between the electrons. LÄS MER
20. Spectroscopy of Stable and Radioactive Negative Ions
Sammanfattning : Negative ions are unique quantum systems which are of fundamental interest within the field of atomic physics due to the importance of the electron correlation in their creation, stability, and existence. Properties of these ions, such as the electron affinity, i.e. LÄS MER
