  1. 41. Fixation of the cemented acetabular component in hip arthroplasty

    Författare :Gunnar Flivik; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi; orthopaedics; reumatologi; Surgery; Skelett; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skeleton; Cement pressurization; Cement penetration; Acetabulum; Cancellous bone; muskelsystem; Total hip arthroplasty; RSA;

    Sammanfattning : In total hip arthroplasty cemented fixation of the acetabular component is a generally successful concept, but the rate of aseptic loosening and consequent revision surgery is still too high. One of the crucial factors for longterm implant survival is the initial fixation and stability. LÄS MER

  2. 42. Osteoarthritis of the Hip and Uncemented Total Hip Arthroplasty : Effects of Immediate Weight Bearing on Implant Stability, Bone Mineral Density, and Body Composition

    Författare :Olof Wolf; Hans Mallmin; Sune Larsson; Jan Milbrink; Per Mattsson; Per Adolphson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Osteoarthritis of the hip; uncemented; total hip arthroplasty; stability; RSA; BMD; DXA; body composition; weight bearing; Orthopaedics; Ortopedi; Orthopaedics; Ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : The initial recommendation for the postoperative regime after uncemented total hip arthroplasty (THA) was 6-12 weeks of partial weight bearing (PWB) to obtain a stable implant position during bone ingrowth. In recent years patients with uncemented THA have increasingly practiced full weight bearing (FWB) after surgery, which has largely been based on clinical experience rather than on scientific evidence. 3. 43. Leg length discrepancy and femoral offset after total hip arthroplasty : clinical and radiological studies

    Författare :Sarwar Mahmood; Arkan Sayed-Noor; Sead Crnalic; Gösta Ullmark; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Total hip arthroplasty; leg flength discrepancy; femoral offset; WOMAC; quality of life; complication; radiographic measurements; acetabular cup; inclination; anteversion; Orthopaedics; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : Every year, about 1 million patients worldwide and 16000 patients in Sweden undergo total hip arthroplasty (THA). This surgical intervention is considered a successful, safe and cost-effective procedure to regain pain-free mobility and restore hip joint function in patients suffering from severe hip joint disease or trauma. 4. 44. Improvements in hip arthroplasty - did they work? Evaluations of different articulations and fixation concepts

    Författare :Per-Erik Johanson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hip arthroplasty; innovation; outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Today, total hip arthroplasty (THA) is one of the safest and most efficient surgical treatments. New materials, surgical techniques and design concepts intended to improve THA have not always been successful. LÄS MER

  5. 45. Arthroplasty for Femoral Neck Fracture. Results of a nationwide implementation

    Författare :Olof Leonardsson; Ortopedi - klinisk och molekylär osteoporosforskning; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hip fracture; femoral neck fracture; total hip arthroplasty; hemiarthroplasty; long-term results; demography; patient-reported outcome; health-related quality of life; pain; satisfaction;

    Sammanfattning : Hip fractures are devastating for the individual and a substantial economic burden for society. The treatment for displaced femoral neck fracture is a choice between internal fixation, total hip arthroplasty and hemiarthroplasty. LÄS MER
