  1. 6. Mathematical modelling and methodology for cost optimization of variable renewable electricity integration

    Författare :Caroline Granfeldt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cost optimization; variation management; variable renewable electricity; variable splitting; electricity system modelling; consensus algorithm; Lagrangian relaxation; wind power integration; long-term investment models;

    Sammanfattning : The global production of electricity contributes significantly to the release of carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, a transformation of the electricity system is of vital importance in order to restrict global warming. LÄS MER

  2. 7. On specification and inference in the econometrics of public procurement

    Författare :David Sundström; Kurt Brännäs; Sofia Lundberg; Michael Visser; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; auctions; dependent variable transformation model; green public procurement; indirect inference; instrumental variable; latent variable; log-generalized gamma distribution; maximum likelihood; measurement error; non-linear least squares; objective effectiveness; orthogonal polynomial regression; prediction; simulation estimation; structural estimation; nationalekonomi; Economics; Econometrics; ekonometri;

    Sammanfattning : In Paper [I] we use data on Swedish public procurement auctions for internal regularcleaning service contracts to provide novel empirical evidence regarding green publicprocurement (GPP) and its effect on the potential suppliers’ decision to submit a bid andtheir probability of being qualified for supplier selection. We find only a weak effect onsupplier behavior which suggests that GPP does not live up to its political expectations. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Variao, contato e mudana lingustica em Moambique e Cabo Verde : A concordncia varivel de nmero em sintagmas nominais do portugus

    Författare :Anna Jon-And; Thomas Johnen; John Lipski; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; variable agreement; number; noun phrase; Portuguese; Mozambique; Cape Verde; Brazil; Africa; language contact; Ronga; Changana; Cape Verdean Creole; concordância variável; número; sintagma nominal; português; Moçambique; Cabo Verde; Brasil; África; contato linguístico; ronga; changana; Portuguese; portugisiska;

    Sammanfattning : This study investigates variable noun phrase number agreement (VNA) in two second language varieties of Portuguese, spoken in Maputo, Mozambique and in Mindelo, Cape Verde. Quantitative VARBRUL analysis is carried out based on recordings made in Maputo and Mindelo 2007 and 2008. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Modelling of cavity partial discharges at variable applied frequency

    Författare :Cecilia Forssén; Roland Eriksson; Hans Edin; Peter H.F. Morshuis; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; partial discharges; measurements; modelling; variable frequency; cavities; disc-shaped; polycarbonate; Electric power engineering; Elkraftteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The presence of partial discharges (PD) in high voltage components is generally a sign of defects and degradation in the electrical insulation. To diagnose the condition of high voltage insulation, PD measurements is commonly used. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Robust inference of gene regulatory networks : System properties, variable selection, subnetworks, and design of experiments

    Författare :Torbjörn E. M. Nordling; Elling W Jacobsen; Rolf Findeisen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; network inference; reverse engineering; variable selection; model selection; feature selection; subset selection; system identification; system theory; network theory; subnetworks; design of experiments; perturbation experiments; gene regulatory networks; biological networks;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, inference of biological networks from in vivo data generated by perturbation experiments is considered, i.e. deduction of causal interactions that exist among the observed variables. Knowledge of such regulatory influences is essential in biology. LÄS MER
