31. Modelling and analyzing strong-field effects in quantum plasma
Sammanfattning : Under the extreme conditions that can be found around dense stars and in the accretion discs of black holes, several strong-field quantum phenomena dominate the dynamics of the plasma. This includes the creation of matter and anti-matter from the vacuum (Schwinger mechanism), radiation reaction and Landau quantization. LÄS MER
32. Strong exciton-photon and exciton-exciton coupling and its effects on molecular photophysics
Sammanfattning : The energy of molecular states and their transition dynamics form the key properties to understand the photophysics of organic molecules. Strong exciton-photon and exciton-exciton couplings enable the possibility to manipulate these properties without changing the chemical structures. This is due to the formation of new energy states. 33. On weak and strong convergence of numerical approximations of stochastic partial differential equations
Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with numerical approximation of linear stochastic partial differential equations driven by additive noise. In the first part, we develop a framework for the analysis of weak convergence and within this framework we analyze the stochastic heat equation, the stochastic wave equation, and the linearized stochastic Cahn-Hilliard, or the linearized Cahn-Hilliard-Cook equation. 34. Excited state dynamics in the strong coupling regime
Sammanfattning : Strong exciton-photon coupling exhibits the possibility to modify photophysical and photochemical properties of organic molecules without changing their structure. This is due to the formation of hybrid light-matter states, called polaritons, which are created when the strong coupling regime is achieved. LÄS MER
35. Hadronization Effects in the Strong Interaction
Sammanfattning : Different hadronization effects in high energy interactions are investigated. The frame-work is the Lund model for the strong interaction. A model for baryon production in jet fragmentation is presented and extended to baryon remnant fragmentation in deep inelastic scattering and hadron--hadron collisions. LÄS MER
