  1. 1. Service life estimation in building design : A development of the factor method

    Författare :Björn Marteinsson; Christer Sjöström; Michael A. Lacasse; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Construction engineering; factor method; service life prediction; durability; degradation; Byggnadsteknik; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The built environment usually constitutes a very important part of the real capital of a nation, and the construction sector represents more than 10% of the yearly Gross National Product of the industrialised world. Good planning of all construction is important, and consideration of the service life of the work is of great interest and is a significant aspect of sustainability considerations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Integrated Life Cycle Design - Applied to concrete multi-dwelling buildings

    Författare :Mats Öberg; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; livslängd; materialval; energianvändning; inomhusklimat; livscykelanalyser; livscykelkostnader; hållbar utveckling; Sustainable construction; Building construction; Service life design; Multiple Attribute Decision Analysis; Energy efficient buildings; Life Cycle Assessment; projektering; betongkonstruktioner; flerbostadshus; Byggnadsteknik; Integrated life cycle design; Life Cycle Costing;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this work is to explore ways of enhancing the overall lifetime quality, including cost and environmental efficiency, of Swedish concrete multi-dwelling buildings. The building and its characteristics, as well as the procedures for whole life optimisation, are addressed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. System for Predictive Life cycle Management of Buildings and Infrastructures

    Författare :Daniel Hallberg; Christer Sjöström; Michel Lacasse; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Life Cycle Management System; service life; performance-over-time; maintenance management;

    Sammanfattning : The Life Cycle Management System (LMS) aims at supporting decision-makers and engineers in their efforts to achieve a more optimised proactive life cycle design and maintenance management strategy. LMS is an open and integrative system, which has to be adapted and developed in order to meet the needs and requirements of users. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Performance Measures of Road Infrastructure - A Life Cycle Thinking Approach

    Författare :Babak Ebrahimi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Road infrastructure; Life Cycle Assessment LCA ; Lifetime Estimation; Geographic Information System GIS ; Life Cycle Thinking LCT ; Material Flow Analysis MFA ;

    Sammanfattning : Roads have been an important asset of human society and the approach we adopt towards planning, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining of the road infrastructure has significant consequences in the long-term for not only the humans, but all species on planet Earth. Hence, the lifecycle performance of the road infrastructure that sustain our socioeconomic development with a low environmental impact, while fulfilling their technical and functional requirements is of critical importance and needs to be improved. 5. 5. Fatigue of Heavy-Vehicle Engine Materials : Damage Mechanisms, Laboratory Experiments and Life Estimation

    Författare :Viktor Norman; Johan Moverare; Peter Skoglund; Daniel Leidermark; Tilmann Beck; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Due to increasing demands on sustainability exerted by end-costumers and policy makers, heavyvehicle manufacturers are urged to increase the engine efficiency in order to reduce the exhaust gas emission. However, increasing the efficiency is also associated with an elevated fatigue rate of the materials constituting the engine parts, which consequently reduces the engine service life. LÄS MER
