6. Characterization of Molecular Adsorption Using Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry
Sammanfattning : Molecular adsorption is a key feature in several disciplines of chemistry, covering as diverse fields as chromatographic separation to biomaterial development. This thesis aims at developing methods and techniques for the characterization of molecular adsorption at the liquid-solid interface. LÄS MER
7. Chemical labelling methods for gel free based proteomics
Sammanfattning : In this thesis different aspects of gel free procedures for mass spectrometry based proteome analysis are addressed, with emphasis on labelling techniques. It is based on three original articles where the effects imposed onto peptides upon modification are investigated, and the development of a new type of labelling strategy is described. LÄS MER
8. Development of Liquid-based Separation Techniques using Tailored Surfaces for Analysis of Biological Samples
Sammanfattning : Development and improvement of analytical techniques are vital in analytical chemistry research. This thesis describes the development and use of tailored surfaces for bioanalytical applications. LÄS MER
9. Piperaquine and Metabolites - Bioanalysis and Pharmacokinetics
Sammanfattning : Antimalarial piperaquine (PQ) is currently used as a partner drug with dihydroartemisinin (DHA), exhibiting high cure rates (>95%) for P. falciparum. Despite its raising usage worldwide with DHA, PQ is synthetically developed outside of big pharma pipelines. LÄS MER
10. Type 2 Cystatins. Studies on the role of the major cystatin, cystatin C, in mice and on properties and distribution of the novel human cystatins F, G, H and I
Sammanfattning : The aim the thesis work was to study the human cystatins C, E/M, F, G, H and I both in vivo and in vitro. A mouse devoid of cystatin C was used for the cystatin C studies. The levels of cystatins C, E/M and F were measured in pleural effusion samples of patients with various lung disorders. LÄS MER
