  1. 6. Bacteremia in patients with hematological malignancies and neutropenia

    Författare :Carl Aust; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : For hematological cancer patients, the risk of blood stream infection by bacterial pathogens is increased. Studies on pathogen panorama, efficacy of antimicrobial prophylaxis and antimicrobial resistance are important efforts to decrease morbidity, mortality and the risk of delays or reduction of intensity in cancer treatment. 2. 7. Functionally-associated target antigens in cancer. Defined by human antibodies and small interfering RNAs

    Författare :Johan Fransson; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []

  3. 8. Familial risks for cancer with reference to lung cancer

    Författare :Xinjun Li; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Familial cancer; population-based; hereditary factors; familial risk; lung neoplasms.;

    Sammanfattning : Familial aggregation of cancer may be due either to environmental factors shared by family members, or to shared genes. Familial clustering has been an avenue to the understanding of the etiology of cancer and has been a basis for clinical decisions and counseling, as well as guiding the identification of cancer-related genes. 4. 9. The risk of malignancy in women with endometriosis

    Författare :Anna-Sofia Melin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the association between endometriosis and malignancies also after controlling for parity, to investigate the impact of endometriosis on survival after a malignancy diagnosis and to investigate the association between treatment of endometriosis and ovarian cancer risk. In a population based cohort study on the association between endometriosis and malignancy, 64 492 women with a first time discharge diagnosis of endometriosis between 1969 and 2000, were included and 3 349 incident cases of a malignancy recorded.     Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Monoclonal gammopathies constitute a group of diseases which have in common an overproduction of monoclonal immunoglobulins, M-proteins. Clues to their etiology have been found in studies showing familial aggregation of these diseases. LÄS MER
