21. Statistical and Dynamical Aspects of Intermediate Energy Nuclear Collisions
Sammanfattning : Studies of intermediate energy heavy ion reactions have revealed the existence of a number of reducibility and thermal scaling properties in nuclear multifragmentation. In particular, the probability of emitting n-fragments is reducible to the probability of emitting a single fragment through the binomial distribution. LÄS MER
22. Noise Applications in Light Water Reactors with Traveling Perturbations
Sammanfattning : Neutron noise induced by perturbations traveling with the coolant of light water reactors (LWRs) is investigated. Different methods to simulate the effect of propagating perturbations are considered. The studies are performed in both open- and closed-loop systems and summarized in three chapters. LÄS MER
23. In-Beam Spectroscopy of the Neutron Deficient Nuclei 92Pd and 162Ta
Sammanfattning : Studies of nuclei far from stability offers new insights into the complete nucleon many-body problem. In nuclei with equal neutron and proton numbers (N=Z), the unique nature of the atomic nucleus as an object composed of two distinct types of fermions can be expressed as enhanced correlations arising between neutrons and protons occupying orbitals with the same quantum numbers. 24. Neutron-Induced Light-Ion Production from Iron and Bismuth at 175 MeV
Sammanfattning : Radioactive waste management is one of the key issues in sustainability of nuclear energy production. Geological repositories represent today the most appropriate solution to long-term management of high-level radioactive waste. LÄS MER
25. Bits and Pieces for the Nuclear Puzzle - Exploring light exotic nuclei with radioactive ion beams
Sammanfattning : Atomic nuclei are a fascinating case of many-body systems governed by quantum behaviour. This fact and the complex nuclear interaction are reasons why there is not yet a complete theory describing all atomic nuclei. Both experimental and theoretical efforts are needed to change this situation. LÄS MER
