21. Bioelectronic Devices for Targeted Drug Delivery and Monitoring of Microbial Electrogenesis
Sammanfattning : Despite a range of pain therapies available in the market, 70% of patients report so-called “breakthrough pain”. Coupled with global issues like opioid crisis, there is a clear need for advanced therapies and technologies for pain management. LÄS MER
22. Heritability and sex differences in experimental neuropathic pain with special emphasis on the role of the major histocompatibility complex
Sammanfattning : Neuropathic pain caused by injury to the nervous system is a difficult clinical problem and a large proportion of patients experience no or only partial relief from existing treatments. Pain sensitivity and the development of neuropathic pain are complex biological and physiological entities that are known to be affected by genetics and sex. LÄS MER
23. On the function endogenous pain controlling systems in healthy subjects and patients with peripheral or central neuropathic pain
Sammanfattning : Introduction and aim: Activity in the nociceptive system is modulated by descending inhibitory and facilitatory supraspinal endogenous control. Altered balance between inhibition and facilitation has been suggested to at least partly explain the maintenance of some persistent pain conditions. LÄS MER
24. Neuropathic pain in an elderly population of an urban area of Iran with a special focus on carpal tunnel syndrome : epidemiological aspects, clinical characteristics, and non-surgical therapy
Sammanfattning : Background: People are getting older, and aging problems and disorders are increasing fast. Knowing the rates, causes, symptomatology, treatment, relief, and prognosis of associated disorders can help and facilitate the elderly, their families, primary health care providers, and health policymakers. 25. Genetic differences in neuropathy and opioid responses in rats
Sammanfattning : The studies examined mechanisms and treatments of experimental neuropathic pain with particular emphasis on the differences between rat strains and sub-strains in basal nociceptive sensitivity, development of neuropathic behaviors and sensitivity to opioid analgesia. In order to study the mechanisms that mediate mechanical allodynia (touch-evoked pain) following ischemic nerve injury to the sciatic nerve in rats, the myelinated primary afferents have been examined in the injured and intact nerves.
